Special steels

Along with our classic products, we utilize the complete research and development expertise at SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH to develop special steels for unique requirements such as extremely heat-resistant steels, high temperature wear-resistant and non-magnetizable steels as well as special grades for the aviation and aerospace industries.

In our competence centre for high-strength special steels at Steeltec, we are constantly working to improve steel as a practical material. The quality of the developed grade determines the end product’s characteristics. An example of such a product is our high-strength ETG® special steel, which among other things features both high wear resistance and outstanding machining properties. ETG® is also highly cost-effective, especially as it eliminates the need for cost-intensive supplementary operations such as grinding, straightening, deburring and hardening.

Another real highlight among our special steels is Ultrafort. This is the world’s best steel for bullet-proof limousines and protects VIPs from harm the world over.
