Special steels

Along with our classic products, we utilise the complete research and development expertise of SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH to develop special steels for unique requirements, such as, for example, extremely heat-resistant steels, creep resisting steels for service at elevated temperatures, non-magnetic steels and special grades for the aerospace industry.

At Steeltec, in our competence centre for high-strength special steels, we are constantly working to further improve the steel, its quality determines the characteristics of the components fabricated from it. Such as, for example, our high-strength special steel ETG®: among other things, it features both high wear resistance and outstanding machining properties, along with being a thoroughly cost-effective material. Because it eliminates the need for cost-intensive supplementary operations such as grinding, truing, burr removal and hardening.

Other major highlights from among our special steels include Ultrafort, the worldwide best steel for bullet-proof limousines that protects VIPs from harm everywhere in the world, as well as Ferro-Titanit alloys for the most demanding of mechanical wear resistance requirements.
