From a steel distributor into an integrated steel group

SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH was founded in Düsseldorf by Arthur Schmolz and Oswald Bickenbach in 1919. The company, bearing their joint names since 1937, has become a synonym for steel tradition.

Originally operating as a steel trader, the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group has developed into one of the world's largest manufacturers, processors and distributors of special steel long products with the Group’s headquarters at Emmenbrücke in Switzerland and Düsseldorf in Germany. The Group currently employs around 10,000 employees.
